We are currently seeking to appoint to the new and exciting role of Course Director for our English and Media joint BA (Hons) course. The Course Director will be responsible for providing course leadership, organisation and management of the course portfolio in order to provide our students with an excellent educational experience which will prepare them for their future professional lives. We seek to appoint a candidate with inter-disciplinary specialist expertise from media primarily, ideally with some knowledge of English Literature and the successful candidate will have an academic, professional and managerial background suited to leading the course forward at this exciting time.
The post holder will need to have a PhD in media or cognate disciplines and expertise in one or more of the following areas: mobile and social media; video gaming and media apps; film and television cultures or media methodologies. Applicants will ideally have professional links with relevant media industries or professional institutions. They will also need to demonstrate a track record of teaching, research and professional practice within their discipline, and an ability to undertake research and enterprise activities which would attract funding for the School.
