De Montfort University is seeking to appoint a Lecturer in Journalism and Social Media to support growth in the area of BA Journalism, BA Broadcast Journalism, BA Communication Arts, and BSc Media Production.
The successful applicant will have the appropriate skills in areas such as journalism, social media, and community media. The role would suit a person with a traditional journalism background who has also developed areas of expertise in new forms of journalism such as in the online environment and using social media.
They will be responsible for leadership and delivery of several specialist modules which cover the teaching of public affairs (local and central government) and will play a leading role in liaison with the PSRB in this area, the National Council for the Training of Journalists (NCTJ). This person must be fully NCTJ qualified.
